Description

When the howl rolls down from the frozen peaks and the ground shakes beneath iron-shod paws, wise travellers know that Skjolnir and Haarn the Wolf Knight are already upon them.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is a miniature that commands the table the moment it hits the board. Haarn, a heavily armoured Norse warrior, rides astride Skjolnir — a ferocious dire wolf whose snarling maw and coiled musculature speak to something half-wild, half-war machine. Haarn leans forward mid-charge, axe raised and round shield braced, scale-and-leather armour layered across his frame, a wolf-pelt cloak swept back by the momentum of the assault. Additional shields are strapped to Skjolnir's flanks like trophies or battle honours, adding brutal character to an already imposing mount.

The sculpt captures a single frozen moment of kinetic violence — the wolf's forepaws leave the ground as it crests a shattered rocky outcrop, claws raking forward, tail streaming behind. The detail throughout is exceptional: individual strands of fur ripple across Skjolnir's haunches and mane, the woodgrain texture on the shields is crisp, and the overlapping armour plates on Haarn carry just enough wear to suggest a warrior who has seen real battle. The scenic base — broken slate and stone — anchors the composition and gives painters a strong foundation to build a narrative around.

This is a multipart miniature with a decorative base included, and it is offered in two options: the full mounted version of Haarn riding Skjolnir, or Skjolnir the dire wolf alone — giving Dungeon Masters the flexibility to field the wolf independently as a companion creature, a pack leader, or an encounter in its own right.

This miniature works brilliantly for:

  • Norse-themed campaigns, Ragnarök-adjacent arcs, or any setting where mounted raiders bring chaos to the frontier
  • A cavalry-class BBEG or named lieutenant leading a warband into the party's path
  • A Ranger or Paladin player character who has earned their dire wolf mount through story and sacrifice
  • Display painters looking for a genuinely dramatic two-subject centrepiece to showcase their best work

Encounter Hook

The party has been tracking a raiding warband across the highland passes for three days. On the morning of the fourth, they find the warband's camp — cold, abandoned, and facing the wrong direction. Then the howl begins. From the ridge above, a lone figure on a dire wolf watches them with the patience of a hunter who has already chosen his moment. Haarn does not attack. Not yet. He is counting them.
