Description

Even in sleep, the guardian of the underworld twitches — muscles writhing beneath absent skin, each of its three heads half-dreaming of the souls it has yet to drag back into the dark.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is the Skinned Cerberus in its most unsettling pose — not rearing, not snarling, but sleeping. Sprawled low across its large 51mm oval base, the creature is coiled and heavy, all three horned heads resting low to the ground with teeth still slightly parted. The sculpt leans hard into biological horror: every muscle group is exposed in extraordinary detail, tendons pulled taut across the ribcage, the layered sinew of the haunches and shoulders rendered with the kind of anatomical specificity that rewards a careful painter. A barbed, segmented tail curls behind the hindquarters, and the forelimbs end in pronounced, splayed claws. There is no armour here, no adornment — just raw, living meat in terrifying repose.

The sleeping pose makes this miniature especially versatile. Use it as a lair encounter centrepiece — the moment the party realises what they thought was a pile of remains is actually breathing. It works equally well as a display piece, where the low profile and layered musculature make it a compelling painting project: wet blending across exposed muscle, glazes to suggest dried blood in the recesses, or a pallid undead tone across the whole beast. The large base gives plenty of room to weather and texture around it.

Mitz & Simz stock this sculpt as a multipart model that assembles cleanly, and adventurers can choose between a decorative base and a plain base depending on their basing preferences.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Run Underworld, Shadowfell, or Avernus campaigns needing a monstrous guardian
  • Want a large creature with standout anatomical detail for display painting
  • Need a dramatic lair encounter piece that doubles as a sleeping hazard or trap
  • Collect mythological or horror-adjacent creatures for their miniature display shelf

Encounter Hook

The party descends into the vault beneath the necropolis, following the stench of iron and old death. There, coiled between two stone plinths, lies something vast and rawly muscular — three heads resting on the flagstones, ribcage rising and falling with slow, wet breaths. Someone's boot scrapes stone. One of the heads shifts. An eye opens — milky, pupilless, and already fixed on the rogue at the back of the group.
