The Skeleton King is an undead warlord of unmistakable authority — clad in heavy spiked plate armour adorned with riveted studs and vicious protrusions, a sweeping cloak flowing behind him, and a crown of serrated spikes atop his bare skull. Encounter Hook

The party descends into the catacombs beneath the fallen capital and finds the throne room still occupied. Seated — or rather, standing with unnerving stillness — at the far end of the hall is the skeleton of King Valdric the Unyielding, crown intact, armour unrusted, mace resting on his shoulder as if he simply never left.
