Description

The thunder of hooves that never truly stopped — this skeletal warhorse still charges, still rears, still serves its long-dead master with every bone intact.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Few sights unnerve hardened adventurers quite like a skeletal warhorse rearing up on its hind legs, bared teeth locked in a permanent rictus, bridle and saddle still strapped across its fleshless ribcage as though ready for a rider who never dismounted. This miniature captures that exact moment — the beast rising up, front hooves slashing the air, every vertebra and rib sculpted with crisp anatomical clarity.

The sculpt rewards painters willing to lean into contrast work. The exposed ribcage and articulated spine offer deep recesses that drink in washes beautifully, while the intact tack — the quilted saddle skirt, the buckled saddlebag, the worn bridle — gives you texture variety that keeps the eye moving across the model. Paint it as bleached bone for a sun-bleached battlefield aesthetic, or go green-tinged and necrotic for something fresh from a Lich's stable. The rearing pose gives the finished model genuine presence on any display shelf.

The miniature is multipart and comes with your choice of base: a plain base for those who prefer a clean, unfussy gaming surface, or a decorative base that adds scenic context straight out of the box. The large 51mm base size means this horse commands the table appropriately — a proper Large creature footprint for encounter rules.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Want a commanding centrepiece for an undead cavalry encounter or Lich's mounted retinue
  • Are building a Shadowfell or Ravenloft-themed warband with skeletal shock troops
  • Play or DM with mounted combat rules and need a Large undead mount on the correct base size
  • Enjoy a technically interesting painting challenge — layered bone, worn leather, and corroded metal all on one model
  • Want a display piece that reads clearly as a threat from across the table

Encounter Hook

The party crests the ridge at dawn to find the valley below filled with the pale shapes of skeletal cavalry — dozens of them, motionless, awaiting a command that only the necromancer at their centre can give. As the party watches, the nearest warhorse slowly turns its empty eye sockets toward them and rears, and the whole column begins to move.
