The Shtriga is a figure drawn from Albanian folklore: a blood-drinking witch who feeds on the life force of the living, particularly children, and who wears the face of an ordinary woman until the mask slips. This sculpt by Great Grimoire captures that moment of unmasking with visceral drama. The hag towers over her kneeling captive, one clawed hand gripping the smaller figure by the hair as she throws her head back and screams into the dark — a skull dangling at her hip, her robes torn and stitched like something worn through decades of cursed wandering. It is a two-figure scene in a single base, and every detail earns its place.
For Dungeon Masters, this miniature does the narrative work before a single word is spoken. Place it on the table and your players already know: this is not a creature that bargains fairly. Whether you run her as a coven leader, a corrupted village elder, a Feywild predator, or a Ravenloft nightmare given form, the Shtriga commands the scene. Collectors will find her equally at home on a display shelf — the dynamic composition and expressive sculpt reward close attention and a careful brush.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a standout hag or dark fey villain for their campaign
- Are building Ravenloft, Feywild, or folk horror encounters
- Want a two-figure scene piece for dramatic tabletop moments
- Are painting projects that demand expressive, characterful sculpts
- Collect display miniatures with genuine narrative weight
Encounter Hook:
The village children have been falling into a deep, breathless sleep — one by one, each thinner than the last. The herbalist who arrived three winters ago always seems to know which family will be next. When the party breaks into her cottage at midnight, they find it empty except for a trapdoor leading down — and from below, the sound of someone screaming in a language older than the kingdom.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The decorative or plain black base comes separate and attaches easily. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with any high-detail resin work, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be tidied with standard hobby tools. The miniature arrives fully cured and ready to prime and paint — or display as cast.
