This is the second pose variation in Novaminis' shopkeeper series, and it tells a story all on its own. Where the first variant might stand at rest, this figure is caught mid-transaction — one hand raised in a firm but polite halt, the other outstretched as if presenting her wares or weighing up an offer. Her long braided hair falls loose behind her, and she wears a layered dress with a rope belt and a practical wrap-style shawl. There is a small book or ledger tucked under one arm, hinting at a merchant who keeps careful records and knows her stock by heart.
The sculpt has a confident, grounded energy — she is not frightened of the party, nor is she particularly impressed. She has dealt with worse. The layered clothing reads beautifully in paint, with the rope belt and braided hair offering excellent texture contrast for washes and drybrushing. Her expression is calm and self-assured, making her equally believable as a general goods trader, a fence with questionable connections, or even a retired adventurer running a quiet shop in town.
This is the second sculpt in the set — if you want additional variety for a market district or guild district, pairing her with Shopkeeper 01 gives your town an instantly lived-in feel.
A great fit for adventurers who:
- Need a well-characterised NPC to anchor a market, bazaar, or trading post encounter
- Are running urban campaigns with distinct, memorable merchants and traders
- Want to populate a town or city with civilians who feel like real people
- Enjoy painting character pieces with expressive poses and textile detail
- Are building a display diorama of a fantasy marketplace or inn district
Encounter Hook: The party arrives in Duskhaven looking for a rare potion ingredient, only to be told by every herbalist and apothecary that their stocks were bought out last week — by her. She stands at the back of her stall, hand raised before they even open their mouths. "I know what you want," she says, "and yes, I have it. The question is what you're prepared to offer me in return."
