Few foes command a tabletop with quite the presence of a lich — and this sculpt by Mia Kay M3DM earns every inch of that dread. The Shadow Lich is depicted mid-ritual, arms raised and clawed fingers crackling with necrotic energy, voluminous robes swirling outward in ornate, wave-like folds that give the impression of a figure emerging from the void itself. A skull-visaged mask peers out from beneath a deep hood, equal parts regal and terrifying — this is no shambling skeleton but a calculating, ageless intellect wearing death like a crown.
The sculpt rewards close attention. Intricate scrollwork decorates the chest and collar, chains coil from one outstretched hand, and the swept base captures the lich mid-ascent, as though the very floor recoils from its presence. Every detail speaks to a creature that has spent centuries perfecting the art of being feared.
A fine choice for adventurers who:
- Need a compelling campaign-ending villain or hidden mastermind
- Are building an undead-themed encounter or Ravenloft-style domain of dread
- Want a centrepiece miniature for a display shelf or painting project
- Play or run D&D 5e, Pathfinder, or any fantasy TTRPG with high-level arcane threats
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the royal archive to find every scribe dead at their desks — quills still in hand, faces frozen in expressions not of fear, but of rapturous concentration. Every parchment bears the same half-finished sentence in a language that predates the kingdom by four hundred years. Somewhere beneath the city, something is dictating.
