This is pose 2 of our Shadow range from Yasashii Kyojin Studios, and it is perhaps the most unsettling of the three. The sculpt depicts a tall, limbless wraith-like form arching forward in two distinct variants — one with a single elongated hand raised to a featureless face as though listening, the other hunched over with its skull-like head bowed and one arm braced against the ground. Both convey a creature caught between stillness and sudden, horrifying movement. There are no weapons, no armour, no expression — just the deeply human-yet-wrong silhouette of something that was once alive and is no longer quite anything at all.

In D&D 5e, Shadows are undead creatures born from darkness and violent death, draining the strength from living creatures with a touch. These sculpts go further than the standard stat block — they feel genuinely alien, their flowing lower forms anchoring them to the ground like smoke made solid. Whether you use them as classic Shadows, manifestations of a cursed artefact, or the physical form of a dying god's last thought, they will leave an impression on your players long after the session ends. Equally at home on a display shelf as on the gaming table.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Run horror-tinged D&D 5e or OSR campaigns with psychological dread
  • Need undead encounters that feel genuinely threatening, not just numerically dangerous
  • Collect and paint dark fantasy miniatures for display
  • Want to represent wraiths, shades, or incorporeal undead with real presence

Encounter Hook:
The party investigates a village where three people have been found dead in locked rooms, their bodies unmarked but their faces frozen in expressions of pure terror. On the second night, the cleric's darkvision catches something in the corner of the inn — a figure that appears to be a person, hunched over, completely still, slowly turning its featureless face towards her.

Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all hand-finished prints, minor marks may occasionally remain and are easily tidied up.
