Description

He swore an oath not to gods of gold or glory, but to something older — and the thorns he wears are not a punishment, but a reminder.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

Ser Baldur is a knight of quiet menace and deep conviction. His full-face helm, adorned with a crown of thorns, speaks of a warrior-cleric or fallen paladin steeped in sacrifice and zealotry — the kind of figure who kneels before an altar not in submission, but in certainty. The sculpt captures the weight of his plate armour in layered pauldrons and a broad chestplate, while a flowing tabard or surcoat drapes behind him, softening the hard lines of steel with something almost liturgical. This is a face — or rather, a mask — that tells a story without a single word.

Available in two variants: one showing Ser Baldur with his visor raised, revealing the draped cloth behind, and one with the full helm in place, visor closed, expression utterly unreadable. Both variants are mounted on matching tiered display plinths that give them the gravitas of relics or trophies. Whether painted as a Paladin who broke his oath, a zealot champion of a forgotten god, or an iron-willed antagonist your players will never quite forget, this bust has the depth of detail to reward careful brushwork and patient layering.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Paint display busts and want something with lore and character baked into the sculpt
  • Are building a fantasy display shelf with knights, paladins, and religious iconography
  • Need a visual reference or prop for a paladin, blackguard, or zealot NPC in their campaign
  • Want a showcase piece that rewards fine detail painting on armour, cloth, and metalwork

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at a crumbling chapterhouse to find a single bust on the altar — Ser Baldur, visor down, crown of thorns gleaming. The locals won't say his name. The knights who served him haven't been seen in three years. And when the cleric reaches out to touch the helm, they hear, faintly, a voice reciting an oath they don't recognise — but somehow know is meant for them.

Details

This listing includes two bust variants of Ser Baldur — one open-faced, one helmeted — both mounted on tiered display plinths. These are display busts scaled for painter showcase rather than standard 32mm tabletop play. Each bust is printed with high-quality resin, with supports removed and pieces fully cured before dispatch. Minor surface marks from the print process are possible and can be tidied up prior to painting.
