Sentinel Stoneheart is unlike any celestial you've encountered on the tabletop before. Rather than standing in radiant glory, she sits coiled and watchful at the heart of a towering arcane construct — a cage of sweeping blades, ocular sigils, and baroque ironwork that frames her like a reliquary holds a saint. Her great feathered wings press against the inner walls of the structure, and a crown of feathers and a single all-seeing eye mark her as something older and stranger than any mere angel. This is a being of absolute vigil, and the sculpture captures that tension between containment and barely-restrained power with extraordinary craft.
The sculpt breaks into its component parts — the central winged figure, the two great flanking blade-arms, and the ornate base — giving Dungeon Masters the flexibility to present her assembled as a towering set piece, or separated as individual encounter elements. Use the full structure as a divine artefact, a sealed vault, or an imprisoned celestial that the party must bargain with (or break free). The chess designation as Rook reflects her role perfectly: immovable, formidable, and utterly in control of her line of sight.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a genuinely distinctive celestial NPC — a guardian, a judge, or an imprisoned divine entity
- Are running campaigns involving divine mysteries, planar seals, or celestial courts
- Want a conversation-stopping display piece that doubles as a chess set rook
- Are building a themed chess set and need a rook with genuine presence
- Collect display miniatures with intricate, multi-part sculptural designs
Encounter Hook:
The vault at the heart of the shattered temple has stood sealed for three centuries — and as the party clears the last ward, the ironwork structure at its centre exhales. The eye opens. A voice that sounds like cracking stone asks, without inflection, whether they have come to free her or to join the others who tried and failed.
Scaled to 35mm. The model is a multi-part sculpt comprising the central seated figure, two flanking blade-arm pieces, and an ornate base. Base options available: Square (50mm), Round (50mm), or Chess Board (70mm) — please specify your preference at checkout. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or striking straight from the shelf as a display piece.
