Selene is a merfolk sculpt with the kind of composed, predatory grace that makes her dangerous precisely because she doesn't look it. She's coiled around the post of a wrecked ship's mooring — scaled tail looping lazily through salt-stiffened rope, rocks and sea debris scattered at the base — with one hand resting at her side as if she has all the time in the world. And she does. Ships come to her eventually. They always do.
The detail work on this sculpt rewards a painter's patience: the individual scales of her tail, the texture of twisted rope, the scattered stones and broken wood planks on the base, and her long hair hanging loose with that particular stillness of someone who is very much in control of the situation. The decorative base is integrated into the sculpt, giving her real presence on the table — this is a miniature that holds its ground whether it's anchoring a nautical encounter or sitting on a display shelf.
Selene works beautifully as a merfolk NPC — a siren, a trickster, a sea-court emissary, or the thing that's been quietly sinking ships along the coast for the past three years. She's equally compelling as a player character for a merfolk or sea-touched campaign, and her composed, watchful pose gives her the quiet authority of someone who knows the party is at a disadvantage the moment they step near water.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Run coastal, nautical or sea-voyage campaigns and want a striking aquatic encounter piece
- Are looking for a merfolk NPC with genuine personality — a siren, a sea-witch, or a tidal court noble
- Want a merfolk or sea-touched player character miniature with display-quality presence
- Enjoy a detailed scenic base that sets the scene straight out of the box
- Are building a collection of aquatic creatures with character as well as menace
Encounter Hook
The party's ship has been becalmed for three days in a stretch of sea the charts mark as uncharted. On the fourth morning, they find a woman coiled around the anchor chain below the waterline — watching them, unblinking, patient. She says she knows where the wind went. She says she can bring it back. She hasn't mentioned her price yet, but the ropes have started tying themselves into unfamiliar knots in the night.
