The Secret Ball from Great Grimoire's Wicked Carols collection is a feast of decorative detail — a teardrop-shaped ornament wrapped in layered floral scrollwork, holly leaves, and raised botanical motifs, all framing a central jewel-like focal point on each face. Far from a simple prop, the bauble is designed to open, splitting into two hollow halves to reveal a hidden interior. Whether it contains a folded note, a stolen gemstone, or a fragment of a cursed ritual — that's for your Dungeon Master to decide.
On the table it reads immediately as something important: an object of Fey craftsmanship, a Winter Festival heirloom, or a sinister gift left by an unknown benefactor. Encounter Hook:
The party is invited to the Winter Archfey's solstice gathering. Amongst the hundreds of baubles adorning the great silver tree, one hangs slightly lower than the rest — slightly heavier. The court's spymaster was last seen near this tree three hours ago. She has not been seen since. A DC 14 Perception check notices a faint crimson stain on the ornament's lower tip.
This piece is scaled to 35mm. If you'd prefer a different scale, drop us a message and we'll do our best to accommodate. The bauble is supplied as a two-part hinged prop — the halves can be used open or closed. As with all our scatter terrain, it arrives ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box.
