Description

It arrived without a wielder — drifting through the village at dusk, trailing smoke that smelled of old graves and cold iron.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is no ordinary weapon. The Shadow Possessed Scythe is an animated object sculpted with sinister elegance: an ornate blade etched with filigree detail, its shaft bound in cord and clutched by a skeletal hand, the whole thing rising from a base of writhing shadow energy rendered as churning, flame-like tendrils. This is the kind of prop that stops a table cold — a weapon with its own agenda, its own hunger, and absolutely no interest in being wielded by anyone who still values their soul.

For Dungeon Masters, this piece works as a cursed artefact come to life, a construct serving a lich or death god, or simply an encounter that needs no explanation beyond the blade hanging in the air and turning slowly towards the party. It carries genuine menace without losing its sculptural craft — the diamond-shaped boss at the blade's shoulder, the cord wrappings, and the swirling shadow base all read beautifully whether it's across a gaming table or on a display shelf.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a cursed weapon or animated object encounter for their D&D 5e campaign
  • Are building a dungeon, crypt, or death-domain encounter with real atmosphere
  • Want a striking display piece that tells a story all on its own
  • Are painting something genuinely different — shadow energy effects offer real creative scope

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve a legendary scythe from a collapsed tomb. They find it easily enough — hovering in the burial chamber, already oriented towards the door, as though it has been waiting for them specifically.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale. The version with a detailed base comes as a single piece. A plain base version is also available, supplied unattached for easy painting — it fits together with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks or trace imperfections may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up. Every piece is fully cured and ready to prime and paint.
