This skeletal reaper cuts a distinctive silhouette — a hunched, desiccated frame of exposed bone and withered sinew, holding aloft a great bone scythe with quiet, relentless purpose. The scythe itself is sculpted with organic curves and fine detail along the blade, suggesting something grown rather than forged. Every rib, joint, and knuckle has been rendered with care, giving the sculpt a tactile quality that rewards close painting attention — from ink-washed recesses in the ribcage to the subtle spiral markings visible on the torso.
The hunched posture is deliberate and characterful. This is not a skeleton mid-charge; it is one mid-stalk — weight shifted forward onto one foot, free hand loosely extended, head tilted with hollow sockets fixed on something only it can see. That restrained tension makes it equally compelling as a gaming piece or as a standalone display miniature on your shelf.
This bundle includes both a plain base and a decorative base variant, giving you the flexibility to choose the version that best suits your basing style. Both supported and unsupported print files are included, meaning experienced printers and newcomers alike will find what they need.
Equally at home leading a shambling undead horde or standing alone as a centrepiece encounter, this sculpt from Epic Miniatures rewards adventurers who take their undead encounters seriously.
This miniature suits adventurers who:
- Run undead-heavy campaigns or graveyard encounters
- Want a scythe-wielding skeleton that feels distinct from generic undead minis
- Enjoy detailed bone and sinew sculpts that shine under layered painting
- Are building out a necromancer's retinue or a Death domain cleric's entourage
- Collect display-worthy undead miniatures for shelves as much as sessions
Encounter Hook
The party arrives at a crossroads shrine just after midnight. Three pilgrims lie dead nearby, their bodies unmarked save for a single clean cut across the chest. Then, from the tree line, they hear the slow drag of a staff on gravel — and a tall, hunched silhouette steps into the moonlight, scythe resting on one bony shoulder, hollow eyes fixed on the nearest torch.
