From DM Stash's Shadow Over Westlook collection comes Carina Braithwaite — a sorceress who carries the weight of arcane scholarship in one hand and the force of raw magical will in the other. Her sculpt captures her mid-cast: one hand raised, fingers splayed as sorcerous energy coils between them, while the other cradles an open tome thick with filigree-edged pages. It is a pose that says she does not choose between intellect and power — she simply refuses the distinction.
Her layered greatcoat falls in clean, structured lines, belted at the waist with a wide leather strap, while a sweeping split-hem cloak fans out behind her — its inner face richly embossed with flowing botanical scrollwork. The contrast between the coat's tailored severity and the cloak's decorative flourish speaks to a character who moves between academic circles and open conflict with equal confidence. Curly hair frames a composed, focused expression — this is someone who has already calculated the outcome of the encounter before anyone else has drawn a weapon.
She arrives on a substantial decorative base: a raised circular platform engraved with arcane geometries and four pointed star-medallions at its cardinal points — the kind of thing that looks deliberate whether you're setting her down mid-session or placing her on a display shelf.
Carina suits a wide range of arcane spellcaster builds — a Sorcerer drawing on bloodline power, a Wizard who never stops referencing the source material, or a Warlock whose patron demands intellectual tribute. She would also work as a compelling NPC: the city's court mage, a rival scholar with her own agenda, or the mysterious consultant the party can never quite get a straight answer from.
A particularly good fit for adventurers who:
- Play Sorcerers, Wizards, or Warlocks and want a miniature that reads as arcane from across the table
- Are building a gothic urban or dark academic campaign setting
- Want a distinctive NPC — scholar, court mage, or morally complicated mentor figure
- Appreciate fine surface detail and are looking for a rewarding painting project
Encounter Hook
The party has been summoned to the Westlook Archive to consult a specialist. Carina Braithwaite meets them in the reading room — polite, sharp, and already three steps ahead. She needs them to retrieve a specific text from a location she refuses to enter herself. The job sounds straightforward. The job is not straightforward. And when the tome turns out to be something other than a book, her composed expression finally cracks — just enough to confirm she knew exactly what it was all along.
