Scarecrow by Monster Atlas
Description
It stood at the edge of the field for three seasons before someone noticed it had moved.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
Equal parts unsettling effigy and shambling predator, the Scarecrow is one of those creatures that works on a DM's table the way a good jump scare works in a horror film — the players think they know what it is, right up until the moment it turns its head. This sculpt from Monster Atlas captures that creeping wrongness beautifully: a hunched, straw-stuffed figure in a battered hat and ragged coat, its clawed hands hanging at its sides, its stitched grin far too wide for anything that should be standing upright.
Whether you're running a Ravenloft campaign, a rural horror one-shot, or simply want an encounter that'll make your players second-guess every cornfield they ever walk past, this miniature earns its place on the table. It works equally well as a wandering monster, a domain lord's animated guardian, or a creeping centrepiece for a haunted farmstead encounter. Just as striking on a display shelf as it is mid-session — this is a miniature that rewards close attention from painters and collectors alike.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run horror-themed campaigns or dark fantasy settings
- Want a creature that unsettles players before combat even begins
- Are building a Ravenloft, cursed village, or haunted countryside encounter
- Enjoy painting highly characterful, textured sculpts
- Collect standout display pieces with genuine personality
Encounter Hook:
The village of Mosswick hasn't had a harvest in two years. The scarecrows the farmers erected to ward off crows are still standing — all fourteen of them — but the crows won't come near the fields at all now. When the party arrives at dusk, one of the scarecrows is standing in the middle of the road. The farmers swear it wasn't there this morning. Nobody remembers putting it there.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with super glue — the sculpt is built to interact with its base, so we recommend keeping them paired. Print quality is high-detail resin; supports are removed before despatch, though minor marks from the printing process are possible and easily tidied up with light sanding. Arrives fully cured and ready for priming.
