This is the second sculpt in our Scarecrow range from Yasashii Kyojin Studio, and it cuts a wonderfully unsettling silhouette. The figure stands tall with a long-handled pitchfork resting across both shoulders, arms draped over the shaft in an almost casual, watchful pose. Its body is bound together with coils of rope at the wrists, knees, and ankles — straw bundled into vaguely humanoid limbs beneath tattered, shredded robes. The signature wide-brimmed witch's hat completes the look: familiar enough to unsettle, wrong enough to unnerve.
Where Pose 01 might be advancing, this variant has an eerie stillness to it — the posture of something that has been waiting a very long time and has no reason to hurry. It reads equally well as an animated construct under a necromancer's command, a fey-cursed guardian of the old ways, or simply a piece of rural horror dropped into the middle of a D&D encounter. The detail in the straw-textured limbs and the rope bindings gives painters a wealth of texture to work with, and the sculpt holds its own just as well unpainted on a display shelf.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Need a genuinely atmospheric construct or monster for a D&D or TTRPG encounter
- Are running a rural horror, harvest festival, or Ravenloft-adjacent campaign
- Want a characterful display piece that rewards close inspection
- Are building a painted collection and want a sculpt rich with surface texture
Encounter Hook:
The village elder insists the scarecrow has always stood in that spot, but three travellers on the road have gone missing since the last full moon — and each time, one of the party swears they saw it standing a little closer to the road than before.
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base; if selected, the base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Each miniature is produced at high resolution — supports are removed before dispatch, though minor marks from the printing process can occasionally occur and are easily tidied up before priming. Arrives ready to prime and paint, or to use straight away.
