Description

The chains were not placed to keep intruders out — they were placed to keep whatever is inside from getting out.

  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

From the Plagued Streets of Canos collection by DM Stash's A Grim Fate eldritch adventure setting, this sarcophagus is no ordinary burial vessel. The stone lid is coiled with thick, sucker-lined tentacles that writhe across its surface, while carved cephalopod faces — hollow-eyed and open-mouthed — adorn the sides of the coffin. Heavy chains drape over the entire structure, as if something ancient and wrong had to be physically restrained within. The stepped octagonal base is cracked and worn, etched with script that no longer reads as language.

Whether placed as a centrepiece in a forbidden crypt, the heart of a corrupted temple, or the focal point of a plague-cult's inner sanctum, this piece carries enormous narrative weight. It works brilliantly as scatter terrain, a quest objective, or a mimic-style encounter prop — and on a display shelf it reads as a genuinely unsettling artefact from a world where the gods have gone wrong.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run eldritch horror, Lovecraftian, or dark fantasy campaigns
  • Want scatter terrain that doubles as a story beat
  • Are building crypt, mausoleum, or plague-city dungeon environments
  • Collect thematic display pieces with strong visual character
  • Need a memorable prop for a A Grim Fate 5e adventure

Encounter Hook:
The party has been sent to retrieve a relic sealed inside the Sarcophagus of Canos — but when the cleric reads the chains aloud as a prayer, the tentacles shift. The inscription, they now realise, was never a warning. It was instructions. Something beneath the lid has been waiting for exactly those words.

Scaled to 32mm. Supplied as separate pieces that can be assembled with superglue. Printed in high-quality grey resin and fully cured — ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or display as-is in grey. Support marks are removed as standard, though minor traces may occasionally remain and are easily tidied up.
