This is pose 03 of our Sand Mercenary range by Great Grimoire, and it captures a masked, hooded blade-for-hire mid-stride — one curved blade levelled forward, a dagger raised in the off-hand, cloak billowing behind them as they close the distance fast. The face is wrapped beneath a deep cowl, identity hidden, eyes locked on the target. Every detail speaks to a life spent in dry places doing dangerous work: layered wrappings, a bandolier bristling with gear, worn boots bound at the ankle, and shattered stone fragments underfoot on the sculpted base. This is a character in motion, and that motion has intent.
Whether you're placing them across the table from your players as a hired knife sent by a desert crime lord, or building out a rogue PC who's spent years running contracts in sun-scorched city states, this sculpt carries the weight of someone who knows exactly what they're doing. The dynamic pose makes it equally compelling as a gaming piece and as a display miniature on the shelf.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a rogue, assassin, or scout miniature with genuine movement and threat
- Are running desert, city, or caravan-route campaigns requiring mercenary NPCs
- Want a masked antagonist or rival who can hold their own at the centre of a scene
- Are collecting across the full Sand Mercenary range for a cohesive faction or warband
- Paint display-quality pieces and want a dynamic, detail-rich subject to work with
Encounter Hook:
The party spots a figure slipping through the evening market — hood up, face wrapped, moving with controlled urgency between the stalls. A merchant they've been protecting is three streets away. The Sand Mercenary's blade catches the last of the light as they break into a run. Initiative, please.
