Samurai (Kenshi) Bust by DM Stash
Description
He has not drawn his blade — and that stillness is more dangerous than any battle cry.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
Kenshi stands composed in layered samurai armour, the kind of warrior who has seen enough conflict to know that hesitation is the real enemy. His do-maru breastplate is etched with intricate geometric patterning, and shimenawa rope winds across his torso, tasselled ends hanging loose at his sides — a mark of spiritual devotion beneath a soldier's discipline. Throwing blades are tucked into his obi, and his expression carries the calm of someone who has already decided the outcome.
The base is a masterwork of its own: a tiered pagoda plinth decorated with mon crests, wave-scrollwork, and a fearsome oni mask framed in sacred rope at the front. Every surface rewards the painter's brush — from the cloth folds of his hakama to the individual lacing on his shoulder guards. This is a bust built for display cases and painting competitions as much as for tabletop narrative inspiration.
Well-suited to adventurers who:
- Paint display busts and want a challenge worthy of their skill
- Are building a fantasy Eastern-themed collection
- Need a visually striking NPC, lord, or villain for an oriental-flavoured campaign
- Play or DM settings inspired by feudal or mythic East Asian cultures
- Collect sculpts with exceptional architectural bases
Encounter Hook:
The players arrive at the mountain dojo seeking the reclusive swordmaster Kenshi — only to find the hall silent, a single candle burning before a shrine bearing his image, and the faint sound of steel being drawn somewhere deep in the fog beyond the training ground.
Details
This is a display bust, not a standard-footprint tabletop miniature. It is scaled to showcase facial expression, armour texture, and sculptural craft rather than to stand on a hex grid. Printed at high detail in our UK studio. Supports are removed before dispatch, though minor marks inherent to the printing process may occasionally be present — these are easily tidied up before painting.
