This is a hulking orc pirate captain, barrel-chested and battle-scarred, striding forward with a broad cutlass raised in one hand and a raptor perched on his opposite shoulder. A battered wide-brimmed hat sits atop his tusked, bearded face, and his open coat reveals a chest crossed with belts and buckles. The base is richly detailed — broken barrel staves and harbour rubble beneath his armoured boots — giving the whole piece the feel of a sea-dog who owns whatever dock he happens to be standing on. The sculpt carries enormous personality: this is not a nameless raider but a commander, a legend, a problem your party is about to have.
Whether you cast him as a fearsome pirate lord your adventurers must negotiate with, a rival captain hunting them across the sea lanes, or a grey-morality seafarer who might be an unlikely ally, the Saltworn Seagazer brings presence to any nautical or coastal campaign. He works equally well as a display piece for collectors drawn to characterful, large-scale sculpts with exceptional surface detail.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a commanding orc pirate captain for a seafaring D&D or TTRPG campaign
- Want a vivid Boss Monster or recurring NPC with real table presence
- Are building a nautical encounter — a harbour ambush, a dockside parley, a captured ship
- Love painting highly detailed character sculpts with layered textures and accessories
- Display impressive fantasy miniatures alongside their gaming collection
Encounter Hook:
The harbormaster's face goes white when the players describe the ship's figurehead — a golden hawk with iron talons. "That's the Tidegrave," he whispers. "Seagazer's been anchored in the estuary for three days. He says he's waiting for someone. He hasn't said what happens if they don't show."
