Description

Where volcanic rock cracks and magma pools reflect the glow of eternal fire, the Salamanders hold court — and this one is already levelling its spear at your party.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Fire Salamander is one of D&D's most evocative elemental threats — a creature of pure martial fury and smouldering menace. This sculpt by MZ4250 captures it mid-combat stance: coiled serpentine lower body rising from licking flames, powerful upper torso twisted forward, arms extended in a two-handed grip on a long spear. Flickering fire erupts from its mane, its shoulders, and the base itself, giving the piece a constant sense of barely-contained energy. The lizard-like head is open-jawed, long tendrils trailing back, and the musculature across the torso is sharply defined — this is not a creature that poses passively.

On the tabletop, Salamanders function as elite warriors of the Elemental Plane of Fire, often found guarding fire nodes, serving efreeti lords, or raiding the Material Plane for slaves and metal. Their reach with a longspear and their innate heat make them dangerous at any range, and this sculpt communicates that threat with every line of its coiled, forward-leaning pose. Painted in deep reds, ember oranges, and scorched copper, it will stand out dramatically against almost any gaming surface.

This is equally rewarding as a display piece — the flame details throughout the sculpt offer a wealth of opportunities for NMM or OSL (object source lighting) painting techniques, making it a compelling project for painters at any level.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Run campaigns touching on the Elemental Plane of Fire or City of Brass encounters
  • Need a menacing encounter creature for a Salamander warband or forge-temple
  • Enjoy painting fire effects, elemental textures, and dramatic reptilian anatomy
  • Want a statement centrepiece enemy that rewards detailed brush work

Encounter Hook: The party descends into a dwarven forge district long since claimed by elemental forces. At the heart of the great furnace, a Salamander stands vigil over a cache of adamantine ore — spear levelled, flames rippling from its mane, utterly unconcerned by their arrival.

Mitz rolled Charisma. Simz rolled Charisma. Both succeeded. The humans had no say in any of this.
