This is Sailor 03 by Novaminis — the third variation in their sailor series, and a sculpt with real character baked into every detail. She stands in a composed, confident pose: tricorn hat tilted at a weathered angle, long braided hair caught mid-movement, and a thick coil of ship's rope looped in both hands. Her outfit is practical and maritime — a laced corset over close-fitting trousers, with wide-cuffed boots that have clearly walked more than a few salt-sprayed decks. The rope itself is the standout element of this sculpt, rendered with tight, realistic twist detail that makes it a genuine painting challenge and a visual centrepiece on the tabletop.
The sculpt reads as a seasoned mariner who's equally comfortable boarding a merchant vessel or negotiating dock-side contracts at knifepoint. The pose is grounded and unhurried — this isn't someone mid-leap or mid-swing. She's the one who doesn't need to shout to make a point. As an NPC, she works brilliantly as a ship captain, quartermaster, dockland fixer, or pirate crew lieutenant. As a player character, she's a natural fit for a Rogue, Ranger, or Barbarian with a nautical background.
This variation (03) is distinguished by her rope-carrying pose — calm, assured, and ready. Adventurers collecting the full Sailor series will find each variant brings a distinct personality and weapon or prop that makes them feel like individual crew members rather than reskins.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run seafaring, pirate, or port-city campaigns needing grounded, believable crew NPCs
- Want a female pirate or sailor miniature with maritime props and authentic gear
- Are building out a ship's crew or pirate warband for an encounter set
- Play a nautical-background Rogue, Ranger, or Barbarian and want a characterful match
- Collect display-quality sculpts that reward careful painting
Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the docks of Saltmere only to find the harbour master dead and the tide-gate locked — and the only witness is a weathered sailor leaning against a bollard, a coil of rope in her hands and a story she's clearly decided whether to tell yet. Whether she becomes an ally, a suspect, or the one who strings someone up before the session's over is entirely up to the dice.
