This is Sahuagin Scout 01, the first pose in Novaminis' Sahuagin range. Broad-shouldered and brutish, this sea devil carries itself with the coiled menace of a predator that has never once doubted the outcome of a fight. The sculpt captures every detail of its layered kit: a stitched leather hood pushed back to reveal a snarling, gill-ridged face; a torso wrapped in cross-laced hide armour adorned with scallop shells and studded leather pauldrons; a kilt of overlapping shell-plated tassets; and clawed, webbed feet planted wide in a stance that reads as territorial threat more than readied combat. In the primary pose it brandishes a bone-handled short sword low at its side, while alternate views show it levelling a long bone spear — a versatile look that suits both a roaming coastal patrol and a dungeon encounter deep beneath the waves.
Whether you're running a sea-faring campaign, staging a Saltmarsh-inspired ambush, or simply building a collection of characterful aquatic monsters, this mini rewards both the painter and the Dungeon Master. The sculptural detail — from the gill textures on its neck to the individual stitching across its cloak — gives a painter plenty to work with, and the stocky, imposing silhouette reads clearly across a battle mat.
Perfect for adventurers who:- Run coastal, underwater, or port-city D&D campaigns
- Need a credible aquatic humanoid threat beyond the generic fish-man trope
- Want a characterful monster mini that also works as a centrepiece display piece
- Are building a Sahuagin warband and want varied sculpts across the range
Encounter Hook:
The party is hired to investigate a string of missing fishing vessels off the Amber Coast. On the third night, lantern light catches the glint of shell armour just below the waterline — and a Sahuagin Scout hauls itself over the gunwale of their borrowed skiff, short sword low, head tilted, studying them the way a shark studies prey before it commits.
