Description

She didn't move when the party entered the canyon — but every cub did, pressing close beneath her massive forepaws as her amber eyes tracked the intruders without blinking.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This large-scale sculpt from Epic Miniatures depicts a sabretooth tigress at rest — but watchful — her two cubs nestled close on a rocky outcrop base. The mother is rendered with extraordinary fur detail, a pronounced mane of raised hackles along her spine, and those iconic elongated canines that mark her as something ancient and formidable. Despite the calm pose, there's a coiled tension to the piece; this is not a creature that has let her guard down.

The two cubs are sculpted with the same care as the adult — small but already showing the beginnings of that distinctive mane, their bodies pressed together in a mix of curiosity and caution. The integrated rocky terrain base ties the whole group together as a single cohesive scene, making this as compelling on a display shelf as it is on the battlemap.

Note that the sculpt is marked as large scale — it will sit noticeably larger than a standard 32mm infantry piece, befitting a big cat of this size and power.

Suits adventurers who:

  • Run wilderness or prehistoric-themed campaigns where the natural world bites back
  • Want a morally layered encounter — attack the cubs and face the mother's fury
  • Need a beast encounter that doubles as a striking display centrepiece
  • Are building out a hunting grounds, lost world, or highland terrain scene
  • Play rangers, druids, or beast masters who might earn a sabretooth companion

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen artefact from a canyon network — but the thief stashed it in a natural alcove that is now, inconveniently, the sabretooth tigress's denning spot. She's not aggressive unless threatened, and her two cubs are clearly newborns. Does the party risk disturbing her, attempt to distract her with rations, or find another way in? Either choice has consequences — especially when the thief returns and panics.
