Few creatures inspire the particular dread of the rust monster — not because it will kill you outright, but because it will eat the sword you were about to kill it with. This sculpt captures one mid-attack, its segmented carapace tilted and shifting as it lunges forward, multi-jointed forelegs reaching with grasping, splayed claws. The long, ridged tail curls upward behind it in a scorpion-like arc, and a pair of antenna-like feelers sweep forward from the head, adding to that unmistakable silhouette that dungeon veterans have been dreading since the earliest editions.

The detail across the carapace is worth taking your time over — the overlapping armoured plates on the body, the segmented tail rings, and the spiny protrusions along the flanks all reward a careful brush and a good wash.
