Description

Once a proud gateway into a forgotten city, this arch now stands half-collapsed — its carved keystone the last testament to the craftsmen who raised it centuries ago.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

Ruins tell stories without a single word of narration — and this arched gateway does exactly that. The Ruined Arch 02 by Novaminis is a substantial scatter terrain piece depicting a once-grand stone archway in a state of weathered collapse. The arch itself remains largely intact, its moulded keystone still holding firm, while the surrounding brickwork crumbles unevenly to either side in cascading stepped tiers. Every block is individually textured with deep cracks and worn surfaces, giving the whole piece a convincing sense of age and structural fatigue.

This is the second variation of the Ruined Arch design — where the first takes a different structural silhouette, this one leans into a broader, more asymmetric decay, with the right-hand wall section retaining considerably more mass than the left. The result is a piece that reads differently from multiple angles on the table, giving your battlefield genuine visual variety rather than a uniform ruin line.

Whether you're staging a chase through a crumbling old quarter, setting an ambush in the remains of a long-dead civilisation, or simply dressing a dungeon entrance with something that feels earned and weathered, this arch earns its place. It scales naturally into larger ruin compositions alongside walls, fallen columns, and rubble scatter.

  • Dungeon Masters building encounter maps with layered environmental storytelling
  • Adventurers who want scatter terrain that rewards a detailed paint job
  • Painters drawn to the challenge of aged stone — washes, drybrushing, and moss effects all have a natural home here
  • Hobbyists building display dioramas of ruined fantasy cities or ancient temple complexes

Encounter Hook: The party has been told the meeting point is the old arch at the edge of the Thornfield ruins — but when they arrive at dusk, they find the arch standing alone in silence, the contact nowhere to be seen. As they move closer, one of them notices the scratched runes carved hastily into the base of the keystone. They weren't there on the map.
