The Rug of Smothering is one of D&D's most wickedly understated ambush threats. Patient, silent, and entirely unremarkable to the untrained eye, it lurks in treasure vaults, noble parlours, and wizard towers alike — waiting for the moment an unsuspecting adventurer steps a little too close. Once it strikes, it engulfs its target in a suffocating grip, relying on weight and constriction rather than claws or fangs. There's something genuinely unsettling about an object designed for comfort becoming the deadliest thing in the room.
This sculpt from MZ4250 captures the creature mid-motion: the rug is rearing up and coiling, its body rippling with tension, small clawed feet gripping the base as it lunges. The render shows an unpainted grey resin mini on a flat circular base — the organic, flowing forms of the animated fabric are beautifully sculpted with visible fabric ridges and folded edges that will reward careful brushwork. It arrives as a single piece, base included.

Printed at 32mm scale. Supplied as a single piece attached to a circular base. Our print quality is kept to a high standard, though as with all resin miniatures minor imperfections can occasionally occur — any small marks are easily tidied up before painting.

We use Royal Mail Track48 for our Domestic parcel delivery. This provides you with a tracking number so that you can track your items on their way to you.
