Rotting Log 02 by Novaminis
Description
Something has been gnawing at this log for years — bark split and peeling, the hollow core dark with damp and age, the whole thing slowly returning to the earth it once grew from.
- ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This is the second piece in Novaminis' Rotting Log range, and where Log 01 leans into raw decay, this variant features a distinctly organic, almost fleshy quality to its bark texture — deep cracked ridges running the length of the trunk, with the severed ends exposing a softened, porous interior. It's the kind of woodland debris that quietly tells a story: something felled this tree long ago, and since then the forest has been steadily reclaiming it.
On the tabletop it works as scatter terrain that earns its place — not just set dressing, but a genuine piece of environment. Use it as low cover in a forest ambush, a resting point along a wilderness trail, or the kind of detail that makes your battle map feel lived-in rather than arranged. Equally compelling as part of a diorama or display board, where its sculpted texture rewards a careful wash and drybrushing session.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run wilderness, forest, or swamp encounters and want grounded environmental detail
- Are building a forest scatter terrain collection alongside other organic pieces
- Enjoy painting projects where bark texture, moss, and fungal growth can really shine
- Want display-worthy terrain that doubles as functional table scatter
Encounter Hook:
The ranger holds up a fist — the party freezes. Just ahead, a cluster of fallen logs marks the edge of the treeline. One of them, the largest, has been hollowed out. Fresh claw marks score the bark from the inside. Whatever made its home here left recently. Very recently.
Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Scaled to 32mm. If you need a different scale, get in touch and we'll do our best to help. Available with or without a plain black display base — the base is unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue.
