Rosalie the Midnight Butcher by Dungeons & Maidens

They said the Midnight Butcher was just a story told to keep thieves from working the late hours — until the city guard found the cleaver and no one left to ask questions.

• ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
• ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs

Rosalie is many things — charming, sharp-eared, and deeply dangerous. This sculpt captures her at the height of her confidence: one heel planted on a wooden crate, a massive cleaver hoisted over her shoulder with the casual ease of someone who's done this before, and a smile that suggests she finds the whole situation rather enjoyable. Her pointed ears and elegant corset-laced attire sit alongside a heavy tool belt and battered lace-up boots, creating a silhouette that is equal parts dark cabaret performer and seasoned killer.

The scenic base is richly detailed — carved stonework slick with drips, a grinning jack-o'-lantern, scattered pumpkins, a skull half-hidden in shadow, a locked chest, and a hanging lantern. Every element reinforces the atmosphere of a harvest-night gone very wrong. This is the kind of base that tells its own story before you've even painted a single highlight.

As a display piece, Rosalie rewards careful painting — the flowing, layered skirt offers extraordinary opportunities for fabric wet-blending, while her expression invites a range of interpretations from cold amusement to predatory focus. At the gaming table, she works equally well as a chaotic rogue villain, a morally ambiguous anti-hero, or a player character who leans heavily into the "charming and terrifying" archetype.

Two scale options are available: the 32mm scale brings Rosalie to your tabletop in crisp detail, while the 75mm scale opens up every buckle, ruffle, and wicked grin for serious painters looking for a centrepiece project.

• A roguish villain with real presence — the kind of BBEG your players will remember
• Adventurers running gothic horror, Ravenloft, or dark urban campaigns
• Painters who want a complex fabric-heavy sculpt with a dramatic pose
• Anyone who wants a character that works equally as a PC or a compelling antagonist

Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking a string of merchant disappearances along the Festival Road. On the night of the harvest moon, they find the last missing merchant's cart — empty, cleaners wiped clean, with a single carved pumpkin left in the driver's seat. Crouched on a rooftop above them, Rosalie watches with that familiar smile, cleaver resting on her shoulder, wondering if these new arrivals are worth the trouble.
