Description

He's worked the same fields for thirty years, and he'll be damned if some travelling adventurers are going to trample his crops without answering for it.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Roderick is the kind of NPC who makes a village feel lived-in. Broad-shouldered and thick around the middle, he stands with the quiet authority of a man who has never once backed down from a hard day's work — or a hard conversation. His wide-brimmed hat is pulled low, his expression set somewhere between suspicion and irritation, and his pitchfork is held across his body in a grip that could be farming or could be a warning. The sculpt captures every crease and callus of a working man's life.

Whether he's the reluctant witness to a murder, the grieving father of a missing child, or the stubborn landowner blocking the party's path to the ancient barrow on his land, Roderick brings the kind of grounded, believable presence that makes the world feel real. He works equally well as a background figure in a village scene or as the centrepiece of a tense rural encounter. Painted up, he'll reward any hobbyist who enjoys bringing ordinary faces to life.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a convincing, characterful commoner or rural NPC
  • Are running village investigations, harvest festivals, or agrarian intrigue
  • Want a quest-giver who feels like he's earned every wrinkle on his face
  • Enjoy painting civilian miniatures with expressive, detailed sculpts
  • Are building a display diorama of a medieval village or farmstead

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the village of Millhaven to find the harvest ruined — every field scorched in a perfect circle, the livestock gone, and old Roderick standing at the edge of his land, pitchfork in hand, refusing to let anyone near the barn. He won't say what he saw. He won't say what he's protecting. But his knuckles are white around that handle, and he hasn't slept in three days.

Details

Roderick is supplied at 32mm scale on a round base. The mini arrives cleaned and ready for priming and painting, or use straight from the box as an unpainted grey mini — both work well at the table. Supplied as shown in the render; some minor assembly may be required.
