This is Rock Pile 02 from Novaminis, the second variant in their scatter terrain rock pile range. Where terrain pieces earn their place on the table, this cluster of rounded, weathered boulders delivers exactly that — a naturally chaotic heap of stones in varying sizes, from a single small rounded rock nestled at the base to a broad, dominant boulder cresting the top. The sculpt captures the kind of organic irregularity you'd find in a highland pass, a dungeon antechamber, or a crumbling coastal cliff — credible enough to ground any scene.

As a scatter piece, it does real work at the table. Place it at the edge of an encounter zone to define the battlefield geometry, use it as difficult terrain in a wilderness ambush, or cluster it with Rock Pile 01 and others from the range to build a convincing rocky outcrop. Away from the game, it paints up quickly and rewards a wash-and-drybrush approach — the varied surface texture across the individual stones gives your brush plenty to work with.

Encounter Hook:
The ranger spots it first — bootprints in the mud, leading directly behind the rock pile at the edge of the clearing. Someone is using it as cover, and they were here recently. The party has perhaps thirty seconds before whatever is hiding there realises it has been spotted.

Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Ready for priming and painting, or use straight from the box as bare terrain. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present; these are easily tidied up before painting. If you'd like a different scale, just get in touch.
