Rhino Rider (Yazir) by DM Stash
Description
Across the scorched plains, the thunder of hooves announces Yassir before any arrow finds its mark — a warrior who long ago decided that if you must ride into battle, you may as well ride something that cannot be stopped.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
Yassir is a desert-born mounted archer of considerable renown, sculpted mid-draw with a longbow levelled and his gaze locked on a target only he can see. He rides a heavily armoured rhinoceros — itself a force of nature in studded barding — both beast and rider captured in a moment of absolute battlefield focus. The composition is one of controlled power: Yassir braced in the saddle, turban and quilted armour marking him as a warrior of the southern reaches, quiver full and not yet spent. The rhino's thick hide, plated shoulders, and low-slung horn make it clear this is no packhorse — this is a weapon in its own right.
The sculpt rewards close painting attention throughout: the rhino's textured skin contrasts beautifully with the smooth plates of its barding, while Yassir's layered armour, wrapped wrists, and arrow-laden quiver offer excellent detail at every angle. Both figures are mounted on a craggy rocky base with an ornately decorated display plinth — a piece that holds its own as a display centrepiece as much as a gaming piece.
A sound choice for adventurers who:
- Need a mounted archer NPC or rival for desert, savannah, or plains encounters
- Want to field an exotic cavalry unit in mass-battle or skirmish scenarios
- Are running a campaign through arid badlands or a warrior culture with beast-riding traditions
- Collect mounted miniatures for display and want a piece with real visual weight
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to escort a merchant caravan through the Dustfall Corridor — three days of open scrubland with no cover. On the morning of day two, a lone figure appears on a ridge above them: Yassir, bow drawn, rhino stamping the earth. He doesn't fire. He simply watches. A DC 15 Insight check reveals he's counting them. Whether he's a scout for bandits, a bounty hunter tracking someone in the party, or a warden protecting territory the caravan has just trespassed into is entirely up to the DM.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The figure and decorative base are separate pieces and bond well with superglue — and given how the sculpt interacts with the rocky outcrop, the base is very much worth including. Unpainted and ready for priming. Minor surface marks from the printing process are possible and easily addressed before painting.
