This sculpt from Monster Atlas captures Eli Tomorast mid-incantation — a renegade archmage who has long since crossed the line between ambition and monstrosity. His chest is bare and crossed with leather harness straps, the muscular frame betraying the physical corruption that has reshaped him. Both arms end in long, curved demonic claws, the forearms wrapped in ornate arcane gauntlets etched with a lattice of dark filigree that speaks to eldritch binding or infernal pact. A longsword hangs at his hip, almost an afterthought — a reminder of the man he once was before the magic consumed him.

His long hair streams behind him as though caught in a surge of magical force, and his face is contorted in a snarl of fury or ecstasy — it is difficult to say which. The overall silhouette is theatrical and threatening in equal measure, the kind of villain who commands silence the moment he enters a room. Every detail rewards careful brushwork: the claw joints, the gauntlet filigree, the flowing coat panels at his legs, and the subtle musculature of the torso are all rendered with the sharp clarity this sculpt demands.

Two distinct angles of the same sculpt are shown from the front and side, giving Dungeon Masters a clear sense of how this miniature reads at the table. A third image shows the sculpt from a wider front-facing angle that better captures the full sweep of the coat and the dramatic spread of both arms. All three views confirm this is an unpainted resin render with exceptional surface detail throughout.

This miniature is a strong choice for adventurers who:

  • Need a compelling BBEG with a clear arc from scholar to monster
  • Are running campaigns set in Ravenloft, the Shadowfell, or any dark-magic-soaked setting
  • Want a warlock patron made flesh — or a fallen wizard the party once trusted
  • Are building a display piece that rewards fine detail painting across armour, skin, and magical elements
  • Play warlocks, sorcerers, or wizards and want a dark mirror of their own character

Encounter Hook

The party discovers that the archmage who commissioned their last job has been slowly transforming the town's apprentice mages into something inhuman. When they confront him in the observatory at midnight, Eli Tomorast does not apologise — he spreads his clawed hands wide and tells them this is evolution, and they are simply too late to stop it.
