Red Dragon Wyrmling 04 by Novaminis

Even at a fraction of its future size, the red wyrmling spreads its leathery wings and reaches forward with curved claws — the arrogance of a tyrant already burning behind those hollow eyes.

• ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
• ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
• ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
• ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is Variation 04 in Novaminis' Red Dragon Wyrmling range — a bipedal, mid-lunge pose with wings fully spread and one clawed forearm raised, giving it a deeply menacing sense of forward momentum. The sculpt captures the wyrmling at its most territorial: crouched low on powerful haunches, neck craning forward aggressively, jaws parted in a silent snarl. The wing membranes carry fine texture throughout — taut ribbed spars stretch across each sail, and the leathery skin between them shows the kind of detail that rewards patient brushwork.

Scale detail runs across the chest, belly, limbs and tail, with heavier, overlapping plates across the dorsal surface and smaller interlocking scales along the flanks. The face has pronounced brow ridges, swept-back horns, and deeply set eye sockets that will take a wash beautifully. This is a wyrmling that already carries itself like a predator — not comical or juvenile, but genuinely threatening in posture and proportion.

As a multipart sculpt, the miniature is supplied either without a base or with a plain base, depending on your chosen variant. Both options give you the flexibility to mount the wyrmling on your own scenic basing material or drop it straight onto a plain disc for quick tabletop deployment.

Whether you're painting it as a vivid crimson threat or an ember-scorched cave guardian, this sculpt holds up to ambitious paint schemes — strong shapes, clear surface transitions, and crisp detailing across every panel.

Well suited for adventurers who:

• Need a wyrmling that reads as genuinely dangerous at the table, not cute
• Are running a Dragonlance, Avernus, or volcanic-setting campaign
• Want multiple wyrmling sculpts for a dragon nest encounter
• Enjoy detailed painting projects with interesting wing and scale textures
• Are building a display piece centred on a young red dragon

Encounter Hook

The party descends into the flooded lower chambers of the volcano shrine — only to find the cult's sacred flame has hatched. The red wyrmling that emerges from the scorched egg chamber is barely knee-height to a dwarf, but it charges without hesitation, wings snapping wide as it vaults off a stone altar and rakes at the nearest adventurer with curved claws.
