Red Dragon Wyrmling 01 by Novaminis

Even the smallest red dragon carries the arrogance of a conqueror — and this wyrmling has already decided that everything it can see belongs to it.

• ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
• ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
• ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
• ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Red dragon wyrmlings are not merely young dragons — they are ambition in a small body, every bit as territorial and furious as their adult kin, just waiting for the years to catch up with their ego. This sculpt captures that energy precisely: the wyrmling is low to the ground in an aggressive crouch, wings spread wide to maximise its presence, head thrust forward with jaws open in a warning snarl. The ridged brow, prominent horns, and deeply scaled hide give the model a ferocious character that will catch the eye on any table.

The detailing across the body is excellent — overlapping scales shift convincingly from the tighter plates of the belly and limbs to the broader, rougher texture across the back and wings. The wing membranes show a fine surface texture with clearly defined bone spurs at the leading edges. Claws are individually rendered and the posture communicates immediate threat without the model tipping into comical aggression. This is a wyrmling that means business.

The sculpt is offered with or without a plain base, giving you full flexibility to seat it on your own basing materials or integrate it directly into a scenic setup. As a multipart model, it assembles cleanly and rewards the painter who wants to work on pieces separately before committing to a final composition.

Whether you field it as a wandering predator in the mountain foothills, a spoiled pet of a fire cult, or the herald of something far worse lurking in a volcanic lair, this wyrmling is a characterful encounter piece that adventurers will immediately take seriously — even if its CR doesn't quite justify the confidence it projects.

Well suited for adventurers who:

• Want a dragon encounter that feels threatening before the dice are even rolled
• Are running a dragon-centric campaign and need the full lifecycle of a red dragon represented
• Collect dragon miniatures for display and want a sculpt with genuine personality and detail
• Need a mounted, guarded, or free-roaming draconic creature for varied encounter types

Encounter Hook

The party follows a trail of scorched earth and singed livestock into the highland passes, expecting a fire giant or a wayward elemental. What they find instead is a wyrmling perched atop the remains of a shepherd's cart, wings fanned, loudly demanding tribute from anyone who approaches. It is CR 4. It is also absolutely certain it is CR 20. Someone is going to have to disabuse it of this notion — and that conversation is going to be loud, hot, and extremely entertaining.
