This Red Cultist cuts a distinctly unsettling silhouette — a robed figure mid-rite, one claw-bound arm thrust skyward in devotion or invocation, the other clutching a curved blade. Layered wraps of rope or cord bind the midsection, and a horned, sun-disc mask conceals the face entirely. The heavy, floor-length robes billow and fray at the hem, giving the figure an almost spectral quality as though movement itself is something the robes have decided independently.
The detail across the sculpt rewards careful painting. The textured robes carry deep fabric folds, the ornate mask has a clear sun or void motif at its centre, and the armoured greaves at the ankle add just enough martial suggestion to make this cultist feel genuinely dangerous rather than merely ceremonial. This is not a frightened convert — this is a true believer, and it shows in every line of the pose.
Whether fielded as a rank-and-file acolyte, a ritual leader directing the ceremony, or a recurring antagonist pulling strings behind a larger conspiracy, the Red Cultist works equally well as a gaming piece and as a display mini for painters who want something with dramatic presence and intricate surface detail to explore.
- Dungeon Masters running cults, secret societies, or planar summoning arcs
- Players building a Warlock, Cleric, or Sorcerer with a dark-faith background
- Painters drawn to robes, masks, and layered fabric as a painting challenge
- Collectors who want a characterful, lore-rich humanoid villain on the shelf
Encounter Hook: The party infiltrates a warehouse on the docks, expecting a smuggling operation — but instead finds a dozen red-robed figures arranged in a circle around a bound merchant, a horned cultist leading the chant with one arm raised toward a tear in the air above them. Whatever is coming through, it is almost here.
