The Travelling Jack is no minor fiend bumbling through the Material Plane on someone else's errand. He is a reborn trickster devil — a creature who has clawed his way back from dissolution through sheer cunning and infernal showmanship. Clad in scaled armour beneath a quilted jester's tabard, his hollow-eyed skull mask bears star-cut voids where eyes should be. He strums a six-stringed instrument with skeletal dexterity, one knee raised to rest his foot atop a crouching gargoyle, leathery wings fanned out behind him like a stage curtain. Every inch of this sculpt communicates performance, menace, and the particular arrogance of a devil who knows exactly how charming he is.
For Dungeon Masters, he works as a warlock patron's envoy, a recurring infernal schemer, or the unsettling face of a devil-run information brokerage. For collectors and painters, the layered detail — the crosshatch quilting on his cape, the worn stonework of his base, the gargoyle beneath his boot — rewards careful brushwork and makes him a compelling centrepiece on any display shelf.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Need a charismatic, scene-stealing devil NPC for a Hell-adjacent campaign arc
- Are running a bard or warlock character who'd benefit from an infernal doppelgänger
- Want a show-stopping painting project with rich surface texture and dynamic composition
- Collect display-quality fantasy miniatures from the Hell at Heaven's Gate setting
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a string of disappeared merchants along the southern trade road. Tonight, camped at a waystone, they hear music drifting from the treeline — a lilting melody that somehow sounds like their names. When they push through the undergrowth, The Travelling Jack is already seated on a mossy stone, instrument in hand, and he greets them each by name. He has a contract prepared. He is willing to negotiate. He is also the one who made the merchants disappear, and he is not even slightly worried about them knowing it.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and scenic base are separate pieces — a small amount of superglue brings them together, and the base is sculpted to complement the pose directly. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming.
