This eerie dead tree is the kind of landmark that stops a party in its tracks. Bare of leaves, its contorted trunk rises from grasping roots, while four ravens perch across its skeletal branches — some watchful, some murmuring to one another as if sharing dark omens. Strung between the upper boughs, a spider's web holds its maker at the centre, patient and still. Whether it marks the edge of a cursed wood, the entrance to a hag's territory, or simply an ill-favoured crossroads, this piece carries atmosphere without needing a single word of explanation.
As scatter terrain, this tree earns its place on any battle map that calls for foreboding — and off the table, it makes a characterful addition to a display shelf or diorama. The sculpt captures the roughness of weathered bark, the individual feathers of each raven, and the fine geometry of the web with genuine care for detail.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Are building a cursed forest, blighted wilderness, or Ravenloft-adjacent encounter
- Want scatter terrain that adds narrative weight as well as visual interest
- Are painting atmospheric dioramas or gothic fantasy display pieces
- Need a distinctive landmark their players will actually remember
Encounter Hook:
As the party rounds a bend in the old forest road, they spot a dead tree ahead — four ravens watching them approach in unsettling silence. One tilts its head and speaks, in a voice thin as winter wind: "Turn back. The Thornwitch knows you're here." The spider on its web below begins, unhurriedly, to spin.

What's included:
This scatter terrain piece is scaled to 32mm and arrives ready to prime and paint — or use straight from the box for an unpainted, atmospheric look. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with any detailed resin piece, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be tidied up with fine sandpaper or a hobby knife.
