Description

In the roots of the world-tree, where gossip travels faster than lightning, a small spiny creature plucks at its lute and knows every secret the branches have ever whispered.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Ratataskr is the mischievous squirrel of Norse myth — a nimble messenger who scurries between the eagle at the crown of Yggdrasil and the serpent gnawing at its roots, stirring up trouble with every journey. This sculpt by Mia Kay M3DM captures that chaotic charm in miniature form: a squat, spike-ridged rodent seated on a natural earth base, cradling a finely detailed lute in its small humanoid hands. Clumps of reeds rise beside it, and there's an expression on that blunt little face that suggests it knows far more than it's letting on.

Whether you need a whimsical woodland NPC, a familiar with an agenda of its own, or a bard-adjacent creature to drop into a Norse-flavoured campaign, Ratataskr earns its place at the table — and on the display shelf. The sculpt's character makes it a genuine pleasure to paint, with the textured spines, fur detail, and instrument offering plenty of interest for brush work at any skill level.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Run Norse mythology-inspired campaigns or Yggdrasil-adjacent settings
  • Want a memorable woodland NPC or mischievous beast encounter
  • Play or DM with bard-themed characters needing an unusual familiar or companion
  • Collect characterful creature sculpts for display alongside their RPG collection

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to carry a sealed message through the Thornwood — but three days into the journey, they realise a spiny creature has been following them, humming softly and watching with unsettlingly knowing eyes. When they finally corner it, it speaks: it already knows what's in the letter, and it has a counter-offer.

Ratataskr is printed at 32mm scale. The model comes attached to its sculpted earth-and-reed base as a single piece. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before priming. Supplied unpainted and ready for your brushwork.
