Description
He fell in battle centuries ago, but the dark oath he swore to his jarl would not let him stay dead — Bodalf Varsson marches still, horned helm cracked and bones bared, sword arm never tiring.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The Rabid Draugar are no shambling grave-risen skeletons — these are warriors who remember how to fight. Bodalf Varsson is sculpted in a wide, aggressive combat stance, longsword levelled low and a large round shield raised to his left. His horned Viking helm sits atop a fully exposed skull, jaw locked open in a silent war cry. Braided rope-like sinew wraps his torso, and ornate shoulder plates carved with Norse knotwork speak to the rank he once held in life. Every bone, every buckle, every woodgrain detail on that shield has been captured with the kind of sculptural depth that rewards a careful paint job.
Whether you're fielding him as a draugr guardian, a wight champion, or a revenant sworn to ancient vengeance, this miniature brings genuine narrative weight to the table. He works equally well as a boss encounter or as a named soldier in a larger undead warband — and on a display shelf, he holds his own as a character piece in his own right.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Norse-themed or cold-climate D&D and TTRPG campaigns
- Need a named undead champion with visual presence at the table
- Want a characterful centrepiece for a draugr or wight encounter
- Enjoy painting highly detailed skeletal warriors with layered armour and texture
- Collect display miniatures from independent fantasy sculptors
Encounter Hook:
The party reaches the burial mound at low tide, just as the runes carved into the entrance stone begin to glow a cold, deep blue. From within the darkness comes the rhythmic clank of armour — steady, unhurried, deliberate. Bodalf Varsson has been waiting for trespassers for four hundred years. He is not angry. He is ready.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The plain black base is included separately and can be attached with a small amount of glue. Each miniature is printed to order at high resolution and arrives ready for priming and painting, or use straight from the box as an unpainted grey mini. Minor surface marks from the printing process are possible; these are easily addressed before painting.
