Description

He's been consulting that open tome for three days straight, pausing only to refill his pipe — and whatever he's found in those pages has clearly unsettled him.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Professor Sturgess is the kind of NPC who arrives trailing rumour and responsibility in equal measure. Sculpted by Great Grimoire with a scholar's eye for lived-in detail, this miniature shows a distinguished older gentleman — grey-haired with a neat beard, spectacles perched on his nose — holding an open book in one hand and a long ornate pipe raised thoughtfully to his lips. His coat is practical and well-worn, his broad belt hung with pouches, tools, and the kind of miscellaneous equipment that suggests a man who has survived more field expeditions than he'll ever admit. He carries himself with the quiet authority of someone who is usually the smartest person in the room, and knows it.

Whether he's a reclusive arcanist the party must track down for answers, a University contact with dangerous knowledge, a rival scholar racing them to the same ruin, or a beloved mentor whose disappearance kicks off an entire campaign arc — Professor Sturgess fills the role with presence and credibility. He'd also make a compelling Wizard or Artificer player character for adventurers who like their magic to come with footnotes.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a high-quality named NPC for an academic, arcane, or investigative campaign
  • Are building a Wizard, Artificer, or scholar-class player character
  • Want a memorable quest-giver or mentor figure at their table
  • Collect character minis for display alongside their D&D books and dice

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at Professor Sturgess's study to find it ransacked — every bookshelf overturned, papers scattered across the floor. Sturgess himself stands in the centre of the chaos, entirely unbothered, pipe in hand and book open, muttering that it's about time they got here. Whatever he's found in Chapter Seven, he says, cannot wait.
