Luther Fleck, Professor of Alchemy, is a masterclass in character design that communicates volumes before a single word of dialogue is spoken. He stands in a commanding, authoritative pose — staff gripped at chest height in both hands — the very image of a man who has spent decades commanding the attention of students who would rather be anywhere else.

His academic robes are richly detailed, with heavy layered fabric, knotted rope fastenings across the chest, and an ornate raised-collar surplice adorned with intricate embroidery.
