Professor of Alchemy (Luther Fleck) by DM Stash
Description
He swept into the lecture hall as though the weight of every alchemical secret ever discovered rested upon his shoulders — and from the look of that cloak, it very nearly did.

Luther Fleck, Professor of Alchemy, is a masterclass in character design that communicates volumes before a single word of dialogue is spoken. He stands in a commanding, authoritative pose — staff gripped at chest height in both hands — the very image of a man who has spent decades commanding the attention of students who would rather be anywhere else.
His academic robes are richly detailed, with heavy layered fabric, knotted rope fastenings across the chest, and an ornate raised-collar surplice adorned with intricate embroidery. A monocle sits over one eye, lending him an air of precise, slightly imperious scholarship. But the real showstopper is the cloak: swept wide to either side, its inner lining is sculpted in extraordinary relief with shelves of books, stacked tomes, and alchemical bottles — a portable library worn like armour. The reverse of the cloak is no less remarkable, covered from shoulder to hem in densely scrolling floral filigree that would reward any painter willing to take their time with it.
The base echoes his academic world — a stone-flagged floor scattered with candles and small vessels, suggesting a laboratory or study chamber mid-experiment. Whether Luther is a patron handing out a dangerous research commission, a morally ambiguous NPC with forbidden knowledge to sell, or the orchestrator of a slow-burn conspiracy within an arcane institution, this sculpt has the gravitas to carry any of those roles.
A great choice for adventurers who want to:
- Represent a powerful academic NPC, arcane institution chancellor, or wizardly mentor figure
- Run campaigns set in magical universities, wizard towers, or scholarly organisations
- Add a distinctive Wizard or Artificer PC with an intellectual, professorial aesthetic
- Create a memorable BBEG whose menace comes from knowledge rather than brute force
- Display a finely detailed sculpt that will test and reward careful painting
Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen alchemical formula from a rival institution — but when they finally corner Luther Fleck in his own lecture hall, staff raised and cloak swept open to reveal row upon row of forbidden texts, they begin to suspect the formula was never stolen at all. It was sold.
