The Primeval Idol is a creature that defies clean classification — part ancient monstrosity, part living totem, wholly unsettling. This sculpt presents two distinct variations of the same eldritch entity, both mounted on dramatic scenic bases at a Huge 76.5mm scale that commands the table the moment it hits the felt.

The first variation depicts a hulking, cross-legged figure in a grotesque meditative pose — its torso humanoid but its face a mass of writhing, tentacle-like flesh crowned by seven serpents, each head distinct and coiling outward with barbed horns and fanged maws. Taloned hands rest across its lap with an almost serene menace. Snakes spiral around the rocky base, reinforcing the sense that this creature is as much a place of worship as a living thing.

The second variation shifts the form dramatically — a feathered, owl-like body erupts from a shattered stone plinth, its avian chest giving way to a snarling draconic or demonic head, again wreathed in enormous coiling serpents that arch high above the figure. Bare branches claw at the base beside it, adding an atmosphere of corrupted wilderness. This version carries a wilder, more savage energy — less idol, more herald of ruin.

Both variations reward a painter's attention. The serpent scales, feather textures, tentacled facial detail, and layered bases offer exceptional depth and surface variety for washes, drybrushing, and spot colour work. As a centrepiece encounter miniature or a display piece, the Primeval Idol earns its table space.

This listing is for one variation — choose your preferred sculpt at checkout.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Need a formidable BBEG or cult centrepiece for their campaign
  • Run aberration, fiend, or serpentfolk-flavoured encounters
  • Want a large-scale statement miniature for a display shelf or diorama
  • Are painting a jungle temple, deep dungeon, or eldritch wilderness setting
  • Play in homebrew campaigns featuring ancient cults or primordial entities

Encounter Hook: The adventurers locate the lost shrine of the Coiling Ascendancy deep in the swamp's heart. The idol at the altar is ringed with offerings — and as the rogue reaches for the nearest gemstone, the serpent heads above the idol's face snap to attention and a voice with too many mouths asks, in unison, what they are willing to sacrifice.
