The Primal Centipede is no ordinary crawling nuisance — this is a apex predator of tunnel and burrow, a creature that has grown enormous through centuries of ambush and slaughter. The sculpt captures every nightmarish detail: overlapping dorsal armour plates, a forest of curved, scythe-like legs, and a fearsome head crowned with flowing mane-like frills and ringed mandibles. Two long forelimbs reach forward like grasping arms, suggesting something more predatory and deliberate than simple instinct.

Two distinct poses are offered for this creature. The first presents the centipede in a low, threat-display posture — head raised, frilled mane fully extended, forelimbs outstretched, as though sizing up its prey before striking. The second variation coils the body differently, with the mane fanning upward and the tail curling away behind, giving a more dynamic, mid-motion impression. Both share the same extraordinary level of surface detail across the segmented carapace and clawed legs, and both are equally rewarding to paint.

Whether you rule these as Gargantuan Centipedes, Ankhegs adapted to underground tunnels, or a wholly homebrew apex arthropod, this miniature delivers genuine table presence on its 51mm large base.

A rewarding choice for adventurers who:

  • Run Underdark campaigns and need a memorable large-creature encounter
  • Want a centipede or giant insect miniature with real sculptural ambition
  • Paint large creatures as display centrepieces as well as gaming pieces
  • Use swarm or beast-heavy encounters and want a standout alpha predator
  • Need a creature that will genuinely unsettle players the moment it appears on the table

Encounter Hook: The party has been following a trail of half-devoured pack animals along the Deeproad — each carcass older than the last, pointing toward the same collapsed mineshaft. As they squeeze through the rubble into the shaft beyond, the scout's torchlight catches movement above: not rock, not shadow, but a thousand legs, and a pair of alien eyes catching the light from the darkness ahead.

Scale: 32mm (large base, 51mm). Supplied unpainted and unprimed. The model is printed in grey resin and takes primer and paint readily — both brush and airbrush techniques suit this sculpt well, with the deep recesses between armour plates lending themselves beautifully to wash techniques.
