Description

Even in death, the sentinel keeps his vigil — robed in ceremonial armour, skull raised in silent condemnation, bound to a duty that neither flesh nor time could extinguish.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

This striking display bust captures a fallen priest-warrior at the moment his mortal form has given way entirely to something far older and more terrible. The sculpt depicts a bare skull framed within a ragged halo of broken stone or bone, flanked by curling organic growths — antlers, horns, or corrupted appendages — that speak of a divine calling twisted beyond recognition. The torso is encased in layered ceremonial armour, richly textured with riveted plating, rope-bound sections, and ruffled trim that speaks to a once-noble office now serving darker ends. Skeletal hands rest crossed at the chest in a posture of cold authority. The whole piece sits on a chunky decorated plinth, making it a self-contained display-ready composition straight out of the box.

Whether you're building a gallery of painted display busts or hunting for the face of your campaign's undead high priest, this piece rewards close attention. Every surface offers something for a brush — from the pitted skull to the fine rivets running along the collar. It works equally well as a painting project centrepiece or as visual inspiration for an NPC your players won't easily forget.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Paint display busts and want a subject rich in fine surface texture
  • Are building a collection of undead or dark-fantasy display pieces
  • Need a visual anchor for a death cult, corrupt church, or undead patron in their campaign
  • Want a shelf piece that doubles as vivid NPC inspiration for a Dungeon Master

Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the source of the town's undead incursions to a forgotten crypt beneath the old cathedral. At the centre of the burial chamber, seated upon a crumbling stone throne, is a robed figure in ceremonial armour — motionless, head bowed. As the torchlight falls across it, the skull slowly rises, empty sockets fixing on the adventurers. It doesn't attack. It simply speaks: "You should not have come. But then — neither should they." Behind the party, the crypt doors grind shut.

Details

This is a display bust, scaled to work as a standalone collector's piece rather than a standard 32mm tabletop miniature. It comes mounted on its own sculpted plinth base. Supports are removed before dispatch and every piece is quality checked, though minor marks from the printing process are possible and can be cleaned up easily.
