Poltergeists are among the most chaotic and visually dramatic creatures a Dungeon Master can unleash on an unsuspecting party — and this sculpt captures that energy beautifully. A churning, funnel-shaped vortex of dark energy forms the body of the creature, its ribbed and swirling form tapering down to a circular base, with objects caught in its wake spiralling outward in every direction.

The debris field is wonderfully specific: wine bottles, goblets, plates bearing half-eaten meals, cutlery, and most memorably, an ornate candelabra clutched at the heart of the vortex — still lit, flames flickering defiance against the supernatural chaos surrounding it. The sheer variety of suspended objects gives this sculpt an incredible sense of motion, as though the poltergeist has just ripped apart an entire tavern dining room in a single furious sweep.

From a painting perspective, this miniature rewards adventurers who enjoy OSL (object source lighting) techniques — the candelabra flames provide an obvious warm light source to work outward from, and the translucent quality of the vortex invites creative use of washes and glazes to suggest an ethereal, semi-incorporeal presence.
