Dr. Evander Vane is no ordinary physician. Armed with a crossbow slung across his back, a raised lantern casting sharp shadows, and a walking cane resting against a battered travelling case stacked with leather-bound tomes, he cuts the figure of a man who has stared into the abyss of plague and undeath and chosen, stubbornly, to keep fighting. His long coat is travel-worn, his goggles pushed up above a weathered face, and his posture radiates the grim authority of someone who has long since stopped being afraid.

From the Legacy of Blood collection by Primal Collectibles, this sculpt captures Vane mid-investigation — lantern raised as though searching a graveyard for fresh signs of something unwholesome. The detail in the coat's folds, the books and instrument case at his feet, and the expression on his face all speak to a character who belongs in a gothic horror campaign or a Ravenloft-adjacent arc. Whether he is a recurring NPC, a reluctant ally, or a Van Helsing-style mentor figure, Vane has enough presence on the table to carry a session on his own.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run gothic horror, dark fantasy, or Ravenloft campaigns and need a distinctive, lore-rich NPC
  • Want a compelling mentor, rival, or quest-giver with a strong visual identity
  • Are building a display piece or diorama centred on vampire hunting and occult investigation
  • Paint character miniatures and relish sculpts with layered texture and narrative detail

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the village too late — the wells are black, the livestock silent, and the only light in the square comes from a lone lantern held by a hunched figure crouching beside a freshly dug hole. He does not look up when they approach. "Seven in three nights," Dr. Vane says quietly. "Whatever opened that barrow to the east, it is still feeding. I need people who can go in." He finally turns, goggles catching the lantern light. "You look like you've survived worse. I'm counting on it."

Printed at 32mm scale, this miniature arrives ready to prime and paint. The decorative base is supplied as a separate piece and can be attached with a small amount of glue — Vane's pose interacts naturally with the base, so we recommend displaying him with it. As with all our prints, we quality-check every piece before dispatch, though minor marks from support removal may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up.
