Description

Born from ash and celestial fire, the phoenix does not merely survive destruction — it transcends it, returning to the world with wings wide enough to eclipse the sun.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Few creatures in the multiverse command the same reverent awe as the phoenix. This sculpt by Witchsong Miniatures captures the creature mid-ascent — wings spread wide in a dramatic full-span display, tail feathers dissolving into ghostly flame trails, and a long serpentine neck craning upward with fierce, predatory focus. The sculpt rewards painters who enjoy layered featherwork: each wing is packed with individually rendered quills, and the transition from solid plumage to ethereal flame along the wingtips gives a painter genuinely interesting textural contrasts to explore.

The scenic base is just as carefully considered as the figure itself. The phoenix perches atop a cragged rock formation draped in creeping root-like tendrils and ruined stonework, with runes etched around the outer rim of the base. A small fireball — trails of wispy energy curling from its core — floats beside one of the creature's talons, adding a secondary focal point and making the whole composition feel like a frozen moment of terrible, beautiful power. This is a miniature that earns its place on a display shelf as much as it does at the centre of a climactic encounter.

The sculpt comes as a multipart kit and is available with both a decorative scenic base and a plain base, giving you flexibility depending on whether you want the full dramatic presentation or prefer to integrate it into your own basing scheme. Supported and unsupported print files mean experienced printers have options too.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Need an elemental or celestial creature for a high-stakes encounter or campaign centrepiece
  • Enjoy ambitious feather and flame painting challenges that reward patience and layering
  • Want a showpiece creature that holds its own on a display shelf between sessions
  • Are running campaigns involving divine guardians, reincarnation myths, or planar encounters
  • Paint for competitions and want a sculpt with genuine compositional complexity

Encounter Hook

The party has been tasked with retrieving a single tail feather from the Ashpyre — a phoenix said to nest in the caldera of a dormant volcano deep in the desert wastes. When they finally reach the summit, they find not the slumbering creature they expected, but a phoenix mid-rebirth: the air shimmering with heat, runic stones arranged in a wide circle, and a being of barely contained fire opening its wings in their direction. Does it recognise them as friend or threat — and how do they make that case in the thirty seconds before it decides for them?
