Persephone With Helmet Bust by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
She was once a queen of spring — now she wears the crown of the dead, and the roses on her pauldron have long since turned to bone.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
This bust of Persephone captures something deeply unsettling: a figure caught between regal authority and creeping undeath. The horned helmet rises to wicked points above a gaunt, hollow-cheeked face, its expression somewhere between contempt and ancient sorrow. Roses — or what remains of them — cling to her shoulder, and skulls are worked into the layered armour across her chest, as though the dead themselves are bearing her up. The sculpt rewards close attention: there are faces in the folds, shapes in the shadows, and a sense that the longer you look, the more you find.
As a display bust, Persephone is built for the painter who wants a true project — something that earns its place on the shelf. She's equally at home as inspiration for a necromancer queen, an archfey who has lingered too long in the Shadowfell, or an undead patron whose bargains always carry a terrible price. The stonework plinth she rests upon gives the whole piece the gravitas of a monument.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a detailed display bust with rich texture and layered storytelling
- Are building a gothic or dark fantasy painted collection
- Need a visual reference or inspiration piece for a necromancer, lich queen, or undead sovereign NPC
- Are looking for a showcase painting challenge that goes beyond a standard combat miniature
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen relic from the catacombs beneath the old palace — but when they descend, they find the vault guarded not by traps, but by a carved stone bust at the far end of the chamber, roses fossilised around the shoulder, skulls grinning from the breastplate. Then one of them notices the eyes have moved. The plinth is not stone. Persephone has been waiting for visitors, and she remembers the name of every thief who has ever come before.

What's included:
This is a display bust, not a standard 32mm tabletop miniature — it is larger in scale and designed for painting and collecting rather than combat encounters.
